Celebrating Wahid Kaduji’s Five-Year Journey at Blue Planet IT
Project Engineer, Wahid Kaduji has recently celebrated a five-year milestone here at Blue Planet IT. Beginning his career in the team as an IT Apprentice, Wahid has worked extremely hard to equip himself with the necessary skills, experience and qualifications to become a highly valued Project Engineer.
Originally working as an IT support representative for a leading retail firm, Wahid spotted a vacancy for an apprentice here at Blue Planet IT and jumped at the chance to expand his IT skills and gain further qualifications via an apprenticeship.
Wahid was delighted to join the team and learn from an expanding number of peers in a sector that excited him.
His apprenticeship was structured in a way that allowed him to study and work simultaneously. He was also able to apply real-life experience to theory, which gave Wahid confidence and assurance when in examination conditions. Wahid’s tasks have tied in with his studies and the theory that he has learnt along the way has inspired him to want to work on bigger projects and perhaps niche IT services in the future.
Wahid has gone on to qualify in the following areas and strengthen his skills and experience throughout his apprenticeship. Wahid’s qualifications are as follows:
(Acquired through the ‘Infrastructure Engineer’ Apprenticeship) with Blue Planet IT:
Microsoft Mobility and Device Fundamentals
Microsoft Windows Server Administration Fundamentals
Coding and Logic Level 3 – City & Guild
Business Processes Level 3 – City & Guild
Networking and Architecture Level 3 – City & Guild
Wahid has also gained multiple Sophos Certifications during his time as a full-time employee at Blue Planet IT. These include:
EU15 – Sophos Central Endpoint and Server v5.0 – Engineer
ET15 – Sophos Central Endpoint and Server
ET01 – Sophos Central Overview – Engineer
SU01 – Sophos Sales Fundamentals 2024
SC01 – Sophos Sales Fundamentals – Sales Consultant
We asked Wahid if he had any advice for other aspiring apprentices. He commented:
“The best overall advice that I can give to you, is don’t fall behind with your coursework!
When things feel tough, stick with it. It can easily become a lot to deal with, but there is always someone out there who can assist you or be a listening ear.
Finally, be mindful of the technical language and jargon – this will all become clear over time, and so it is important to recognise it for what it is.”
We think that this is sound advice from Wahid and illustrates the personal and professional journey that he has been on during his apprenticeship.
